G.I. Joe Director Returning For Sequel?

The Wrap is leading with a story that suggests Stephen Sommers will return to direct the 'G.I. Joe' sequel - according to a source who has informed the news site.

Tension between Sommers and Paramount had placed his future with the sequel in doubt, but it now appears that bridges have been mended.

Channing Tatum is expected to reprise his role as Capt. Duke Hauser in the sequel, which is still in development at the studio.

For the moment, plot details are being kept under wraps, but Collider reported earlier this year that Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick ('Zombieland') were taken on to pen the sequel, and the studio is apparently more than happy with the draft.

I enjoyed the first movie (surprisingly), so I'm eager to see what the second installment will offer.
