The classic 1960s version of 'The Little Shop of Horrors' is being given the remake treatment - movie gossip site Bloody Disgusting exclusively revealed.
Declan O'Brien (director of 'direct-to-video' effort 'Wrong Turn 3', he revealed to Bloody-Disgusting that he just optioned the rights to Roger Corman's classic 'The Little Shop of Horrors'!
He said:
“Actually its been a busy time for me. I just optioned Roger Corman’s 'The Little Shop of Horror', which Im setting up as a big studio remake.
"We're in the process of talking to studios this week. It will be a remake of Roger’s original 1960’s movie. I don’t want to reveal too much, but it’s me, it’ll be dark!"
Rest assured...this won't be a musical, as per the Rick Moranis version. In the original (which featured Jack Nicholson's first motion picture performance) a clumsy young man nurtures a plant and discovers that it's a bloodthirsty plant, forcing him to kill to feed it.
A scary remake? Who could star as Seymour Krelboin? Hopefully NOT Zac Efron...please! He seems to be a man everyone's talking about at the moment :/
