Director Terry Gilliam has opened up about the extent of the "financial hiccup" which has threatened to derail plans for his troubled 'Don Quixote' movie, confessing the investment completely "collapsed" earlier this summer.
The helmer has spent more than a decade trying to get the picture into production but unfortunately the project has been burdened by disasters from the outset.
He revived the movie, originally titled 'The Man Who Killed Don Quixote', earlier this year, casting 'Star Wars' actor Ewan McGregor to take over from first choice Johnny Depp, who was forced to quit the job due to scheduling conflicts after the initial string of delays. Robert Duvall is set to replace French star Jean Rochefort as Quixote.
However, last month (Aug10) Gilliam revealed 'Don Quixote' had been thrown into jeopardy once again, claiming the latest setback was down to a "little financial hiccup".
Now he has revealed the trouble facing the project is a lot more serious than he let on.
Speaking to Variety, he says:
"The financing collapsed about a month and a half ago.... The plan was to be shooting Quixote right now."
But Gilliam insists the movie will still be made....at some point!
He adds:
"Robert Duvall is Quixote, Ewan McGregor is also there, and we are looking for new financing right now.
"Don Quixote gives me something to look forward to, always. Maybe the most frightening thing is to actually make the film."
Universal Music execs are facing a multi-million dollar pay out to EMINEM's former publishing company after losing an appeal in a long-running legal fight over royalties.
Last year, FBT Productions bosses claimed Universal owed the Stan hitmaker $1.47 million (£980,000) in damages because executives had failed to pay the star for music downloads.
The case was heard in a California court in March 2009, but a judge eventually dismissed FBT's argument and ruled in favour of Universal.
The publishing firm's owners appealed the decision and, on Friday 3rd September, Central District of California court Judge Silverman reversed the previous ruling, declaring Universal bosses will have to pay FBT a substantial amount in compensation, however the exact amount had not been revealed as WENN went to press.
Eminem has not been personally involved in the legal battle.

Actor / Singer Mark Wahlberg cringes when he thinks back to his music career, because he's so embarrassed about his life as an up-and-coming rapper.
The actor found fame with Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch before moving on to high profile films including 'Planet of the Apes' and 'Boogie Nights'.
Now Wahlberg admits he hates watching footage of his pop star days and is often the subject of his friends' jokes.
He says:
"Ah man, embarrassed. I thought I was so cool back then, but when I see the footage, I was such an a**.
"I remember seeing this thing on VH1, some Sexy People Of The 90s Show. My brother Paul was watching with me and my assistant - they were just killing themselves with laughter. To top it off, I was number one! So for ages after whenever they'd call, they'd be, 'Can we speak to the Sexiest Man Of The 90s please?' They keep killing me."
