Lohan's Parents Speak Out About Rehab Incident!

47990, PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA - Monday November 29, 2010. AND THE AWARD GOES TO: Lindsay Lohan leaves her Palm Desert outpatient home with a visible 'Sober Shine Award' placard placed in her front yard. The sign was placed last night in front of Lohan's home. Lohan, who is currently undergoing court ordered rehab at The Betty Ford Clinic, is reportedly being replaced by actress Malin Akerman in the upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic Inferno . She was spotted over the weekend doing a bit of retail shopping, stopping at a jewelry store at an outlet near Palm Springs, followed by a Prada store. Photograph: David Tonnessen, PacificCoastNews.com

The father of troubled star Lindsay Lohan is adamant the actress is not to blame for an alleged altercation with a member of staff at a rehab clinic, claiming the employee "had it in for Lindsay" and snapped when the star was 10 minutes late after a trip to a hair salon.

Police in Palm Desert, California have launched an investigation after a worker at the Betty Ford clinic claimed to have been hurt in a dispute with Lohan last week (12th December 2010).

Dawn Holland, who has been dismissed from Betty Ford for talking to the media about the incident, alleges Lohan was caught sneaking back in to the clinic after her curfew, and also claims the star had been drinking. A 911 call was placed from the centre at 1.03am on 12 December 2010 and Lohan's lawyer claims the actress called in police herself.

Lohan's father Michael is adamant his daughter should not be blamed for the incident, insisting she was merely 10 minutes late on her return from a hair appointment.

He tells E! Online:

"She (Holland) had it in for Lindsay the whole time. As soon as Lindsay walked in the door the woman grabbed Lindsay by the arm, and not the other two girls (she was with), and said, 'You are going to take a urine test'. Lindsay just brushed her off. That is what she told me: 'Dad, I just brushed her off.' It all boils down to that they were 10 minutes late. Lindsay had three weeks left and this woman was in Lindsay's face, constantly complaining."

Lohan's mother, Dina, believes there is a conspiracy to ruin her daughter's reputation, and she tells New York Post:

"There's a mole in the place. Someone in there's trying to hurt her before she gets out."

Bullock And Reynolds Are "Just Friends"!

The oscar winning actress is preparing to start work on her new film Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close which also stars Tom Hanks and is based on the book by Moneyball and True Grit producer Scott Rudin. Sandra Bullock's rep has dismissed reports the actress has been enjoying "date nights" with Ryan Reynolds following his split from Scarlett Johansson, and insists 'The Proposal' co-stars are "nothing except friends".

Reynolds and Johansson called time on their two-year union earlier this month and a report published in America's Star magazine suggested the actor turned to Bullock in the wake of his marriage breakdown, after they became close on the set of the 2009 romantic comedy.

A source apparently told the publication:

"Ryan turned more and more to his close friend Sandra... There were phone calls, date nights and even a secret getaway!"

But Bullock's spokesperson quickly shot down the story, telling GossipCop.com the actress and Reynolds are "literally nothing except friends".

Martin Dines With Homeless Singers!

He also showed the new iTunes version 10 and the release of the second generation of Apple TV. (Photo by Justin Sullivan/Getty Images)

Chris Martin snubbed an aftershow party following a Coldplay charity gig on Monday night, and instead chose to dine with a group of homeless singers!

The band played a show at the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool, England to raise awareness of men and women living on the streets in the UK.

They performed with a choir made up of the homeless - and Martin chose to eat with them after the concert rather than attend the official aftershow meal.

A source tells the Daily Star:

"Chris had a load of homeless people singing in a choir for his gig and he thought they were so amazing he wanted to hang out with them after.

"He went backstage, snubbed his celeb dinner and ordered 12 giant pizzas and 25 bags of chips for them all to eat. His security were desperately trying to get him to leave and go back to his dressing room, but he was having none of it."

Coldplay might not be everyone's cup of tea, but Chris Martin definitely has a heart of gold!

Arquette Is NOT Having A Nervous Breakdown!

48055, BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA - Tuesday November 30 2010. David Arquette poses with MMA fighter Daniel Puder as they attend an event at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. Arquette is currently estranged from wife Courteney Cox, but has said in recent interviews he still loves the former Friends star. Photograph: Tony Orlando, PacificCoastNews.com

'Scream' star David Arquette has backtracked over his comments suggesting his separation from wife Courtney Cox has prompted a nervous breakdown - insisting it was "a joke"!

The couple revealed in October 2010 they had decided to take a break after 11 years of marriage, and 'Cougar Town' star Cox has kept a dignified silence since their trial separation began. However, Arquette went public to reveal their lack of bedroom action and how the actress grew tired of his immaturity, and he opened up further on Howard Stern's radio show on Wednesday this week.

When asked by the shock jock if he's "having a nervous breakdown", Arquette replied:

"I believe so."

He confessed he had been drinking heavily since his marriage revelation and had "embarrassed" himself at a Hollywood party after mistaking Tom Cruise for someone else. I'm sure he's not the only one!

But despite his own claims, Arquette has taken to his Twitter page to insist he is NOT experiencing a meltdown.

He writes:

"It is being reported that I'm having a Nervous Breakdown. I assure you am not. This stemmed from a joke I made.

"I always speak my mind and I really don't care what people that don't know me may say. I'm a good person with a huge heart. I thank those that have been on my side during this rough time."

Hurley "Bored" With Marriage Speculation!

48284, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - Tuesday December 7, 2010. Elizabeth Hurley is seen wearing a lace top and black bra while leaving C restaurant in London with a female friend. Photograph: Smart Pictures, PacificCoastNews.com

Elizabeth Hurley is apparently "bored" of the fuss surrounding her separation from husband Arun Nayer, and insists rumours she is preparing to file for divorce and move to Australia are untrue!

The pair's relationship hit headlines in the UK last Sunday (12th Dececember 2010) when the News of the World reported the actress had spent two nights at a London hotel with cricket star Shane Warne the week before (w/c 6th December 2010).

The actress/model has been at the centre of speculation that she is set to rush through a divorce and is planning to keep all of her own money. There have also been rumours the beauty is keen to move to Warne's native Australia to be closer to her alleged new love interest.

But Hurley has taken to her Twitter page to blast the reports, revealing she has taken no steps towards divorce and is staying in the UK!

She writes:

"Bored now of silly speculations: no one is divorcing anyone yet, no one is fighting over money & I have no plans to go to Australia. Enough!"

And the gossip has obviously been getting to Hurley - she had to abandon her favourite alcoholic beverage of vodka, lime and soda after running out of the citrus fruit because she's too tired to shop! *gasp!*

She adds:

"An all time low; tonight's VLS is actually a VTS. No limes & too slothful to shop. T for tangerine."

Gawd bless ya, Liz!

Doherty Takes Dancing Lessons For Movie Debut!

Worries were that Pete Doherty wasn't going to show after being reportedly admitted to a hospital in Nice. Photograph: PacificCoastNews.com

British rocker Pete Doherty is hoping to waltz into his first acting role, and he's taking dance lessons in preparation for filming his movie debut later this month!

The Babyshambles and Libertines musician is set to star alongside actress Charlotte Gainsbourg in French production 'Confession d'un Enfant du Siecle', about the life of 19th century writer Alfred de Musset. And to get himself into character, Doherty is learning how to dance.

On his blog, he writes:

"My character must display natural grace and poise - as was expected of a young aristocrat and dandy of 1830's French society.

"I was going to film the lesson, but it didn't seem appropriate. The teacher was just as I had imagined - straight backed, horsewhip in hand, and a brutal perfectionist."

Nice to see he's broadening his skills!

Morgan Freeman IS Alive!

Fans of Morgan Freeman were sent into a panic on yesterday after a respected news organisation mistakenly tweeted that the Hollywood star had died!

America's CNN released an update on Twitter stating:

"Breaking News: actor Morgan Freeman has passed away in his Burbank home."

The message prompted an outpouring of notes of condolences and tributes to the star and his family.

However, the legendary actor's pal Peter Shankman put a stop to the shocking claims, replying to CNN's message and insisting Freeman "was - and is - very much alive".

The news giant took down the message shortly afterwards and allegedly confirmed the tweet was a "mistake".

In an apparent twist of events, CNN's twitter feed now mentions:

"CNN did not report Morgan Freeman death. Rumor is false. CNN will aggressively investigate this hoax."

What's going on, CNN??

Ryder Reveals "Horrible" Encounter With Gibson.

Dec. 1, 2010 - New York, New York, U.S. - winona ryder.the premiere of ''Black Swan'' at The Ziegfeld Theater in New York City on 11-30-2010. 2010..I15025KBA. © Red Carpet Pictures

'Black Swan' star Winona Ryder has opened up about a "horrible" encounter with Mel Gibson at a Hollywood party 15 years ago, insisting she saw the troubled actor's dark side but "no one believed" her!

The 'Braveheart' star has hit headlines throughout this year after his ex-girlfriend alleged he was violent towards her and a number of the former couple's explosive arguments leaked online, with Gibson's rants coming under particular scrutiny. The now-infamous tapes surfaced three years after he was accused of unleashing his temper during a 2006 DUI arrest and hurling anti-Semitic abuse at a Jewish traffic cop.

Ryder met Gibson long before his personal problems became public and the Jewish actress claims she was left aghast when the star allegedly made a series of offensive jokes and drunkenly insulted her religious beliefs.

She tells GQ magazine:

"Fifteen years ago, I was at one of those big Hollywood parties. And he was really drunk. I was with my friend, who's gay. (Gibson) made a really horrible gay joke. And somehow it came up that I was Jewish. He said something about 'oven dodgers,' but I didn't get it. I'd never heard that before. It was just this weird, weird moment.... No one believed me!"

Streisand Convinced Of Lucky Grammy Victory!

Standing Ovation Premiere, held at The Universal CityWalk, Universal City, California on July 10th, 2010. Barbra Streisand Fame Pictures, Inc

Barbra Streisand is convinced she has a good chance of picking up a Grammy Award at the upcoming ceremony in February next year.....because she allegedly predicted the nomination 24 years ago!

The singer/actress last won a Grammy Award in 1986, taking home the Best Pop Vocal Female Performance prize for The Broadway Album.

The win was extra special for Streisand because her lucky number is 24 and the ceremony was held on 24 February - and she predicted her next nomination would be 24 years later!

She was nominated as predicted earlier this month, picking up a nod in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category for Love Is the Answer, and she hopes her lucky streak will continue at the 53rd Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on 13 February 2011.

Speaking to Larry King, she says:

"Do you know, I love numerology because when I got my last Grammy, it was 24 years ago. I was born on the 24th... I had my son when I was 24. And my lucky number was 24.

"And the day that the Grammys were on, 24 years ago, I really didn't think I would win against Madonna, Tina Turner, Cindy Lauper... I didn't think I'd win. Except for the fact that it was February 24th. The day of those Grammys. And I won. For The Broadway album. And I said in that speech, 'You know, who knows, maybe 24 years from now, I'll be up for another Grammy'. And here it is, 24 years later."

Coincidence? Or is it just Grammy giving one final nod in honour of her work over the past few decades?

Sarah Jessica Parker has joined the cast of 'New Year's Eve', according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Actor Colin Firth sparked a fresh Oscars buzz yesterday when he was awarded the Best Actor prize by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association for his role in 'The King's Speech'!

The star is a frontrunner for an Academy Award nomination after critics handed him a trophy for his portrayal of British monarch King George VI.

'The Social Network' was also praised by L.A. film experts and went home with the Best Film and Best Screenplay honours. The Best Director nod was tied between David Fincher ('The Social Network') and Olivier Assayas ('Carlos').

Other winners included 'Mother' star Kim Hye-ja, who won the Best Actress prize, while the Best Supporting Actor and Actress were given to Niels Arestrup for his role in 'A Prophet' and Jacki Weaver for her turn in 'Animal Kingdom'. Duran Duran Thankful For Ronson's Back To Basics Approach!

LOS ANGELES, CA - NOVEMBER 18: Musical group Duran Duran poses in the press room at the 2007 American Music Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on November 18, 2007 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images)

DURAN DURAN drummer Roger Taylor is convinced Mark Ronson saved the band from disappearing out of the charts - because he helped the 80s hitmakers "rediscover" their sound.

The superproducer was brought in to the studio by the Rio superstars after their last album, Red Carpet Massacre, failed to set the charts alight in 2007.

And Taylor admits the band "thank God" Ronson was around to help them with their upcoming record, All You Need Is Now, because it could have been their last if they carried on producing the same sounds as in recent years.

Taylor tells tabloid rag The Daily Star:

"We all knew it was a very important album for us, it was do or die actually. After our last record didn't perform that well, we thought: 'The next one better be good, because it could be our last.'

"Thank God that we fell in with Mark Ronson, who showed us the way. Mark said: 'You need to rediscover your sound and how you made records back in 1983.'

"He had a vision that we could still be contemporary but recapture the ground that we used to occupy, one that other bands like The Killers had jumped onto."

As a fan of Duran Duran, I believe their decision to team up with Mark Ronson could well mean their next album turns out to be a great success! Retro definitely works for me.

I've downloaded their new single (FREE!) from iTunes and it's a definite winner, for me anyway :)

Duran Duran's new album is due out on 21st December 2010 - in time for Christmas!

Former 'DALLAS' star Larry Hagman is heading to Wisteria Lane!

The veteran actor has signed up to film a cameo appearance in 'Desperate Housewives', despite never having seen an episode of the hit show.

It's been confirmed he will play a love interest of Felicity Huffman's character's mum Stella Wingfield, played by Polly Bergen. Awww!

He tells The Hollywood Reporter:

"I just decided (to do it), and am going to shoot next week."

But Hagman admits he is clueless about the hit programme - and is cramming in as many episodes as possible before he shoots his scenes:

"I can watch a hundred episodes on my iPad. I never watch television, so I better get started so I can see what the show's all about."

Hagman's scenes will air in 2011!

Bad news for David Hasselhoff, as his reality TV show 'The Hasselhoffs' has been axed after only just two episodes!

The programme centres around the former 'Baywatch' star and his two actress daughters, 17-year-old Hayley and 20-year-old Taylor Ann, as he helps them pursue careers in the entertainment industry.

The first episode aired in America on Sunday (05 December 2010) to lacklustre viewing figures, and numbers dropped by 50 per cent for the second installment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

And now TV chiefs have pulled the show off air, with eight half-hour episodes left unwatched.

Oh dear!
