STAR WARS Movies To Get 3-D Treatment!
After more than five years of speculation, Lucasfilm has revealed that work is under way on converting the 'Star Wars' saga to 3-D! All six movies will get theatrical re-release in stereoscopic starting with 'Episode I: The Phantom Menace' which returns to cinemas in 2012. Is this a good idea though? Given the track record of converting movies to 3-D, I'm hoping they improve this process before Lucas invests loads of money on this project.
Exact release date has not been announced, but a Lucasfilm spokesperson said the movie will open wide and "as close to day and date (worldwide) as possible."
The prospect of six 'Star Wars' pics released in 3-D should inject new interest in young audiences (and faithful fans) who are used to 3-D and only know 'Star Wars' from DVD and the 'Clone Wars' animated series.
Fox domestic distribution president Bruce Snyder said the series is "perfectly suited" for 3-D and adds:
"I expect this to be as much fun for people that have not experienced 'Star Wars' as it was for people who were there in 1977 staring at the screen with mouth agape."
It is not yet known how far apart the re-releases will be, as that will depend entirely on the pace of the conversion effort.
John Knoll, visual effects supervisor for Lucasfilm's Industrial Light and Magic, is overseeing the conversion, which is being done by outside vendors with close oversight by ILM.
Knoll said Lucasfilm is committed to ensuring that the 3-D conversion delivers results as good as a movie shot and authored in 3-D. Knoll said that it'll be used to make the experience more immersive and he'll avoid some of the more jarring, exaggerated uses of 3-D that have marked previous stereoscopic pics. Without trying to sound too negative, I guess the proof will be in the pudding.
Speaking to Variety, Knoll adds:
"Having seen a lot of stereo material, I have very strong opinions about what I like and don't like about stereo,
"I'm going to be applying my aesthetic. It's not going to look like (conversions) we've seen in the past."
Knoll stresses that there are no plans to add (or fix) visual effects on the movies.
For those looking to get a slice of the popular sci-fi franchise in the comfort of their own home (in 3-D), unfortunately there has been no mention of a DVD release. But that's not to say it may never happen.
Jared Harris Nabs 'Moriarty' Role In Sherlock Sequel!
'Mad Men' actor Jared Harris has been cast as Sherlock Holmes' arch nemesis, Professor Moriarty, in Guy Ritchie's sequel to the 2009 hit movie - Variety reports.
The studio had been considering a number of actors, including Daniel Day Lewis, to play the British sleuth's number one enemy, before landing on Harris, who has history of portraying slithery characters - namely in Fox's 'Fringe' and FX's 'The Riches'. Brad Pitt was not in the running, despite several rumours. Warner Bros. confirmed Harris' casting, which was first reported by latinoreview.com.
Moriarty briefly appeared in the franchise's first outing last year, but his face was never revealed. The character will serve as the main villain in 'Sherlock Holmes 2'.
Robert Downey Jr. will return as Holmes, pairing up with Jude Law again as Dr. John Watson.
Casting is well underway on the next installment, with Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) playing the female lead in her first English role, and Stephen Fry recently cast as Holmes' brother.
The studio has penned in a release date of 16th December 2011 for the sequel, with Guy Ritchie behind the camera along with producers including Dan Lin, Joel Silver, Susan Downey and Lionel Wigram.
Kieran and Michele Mulroney worked on the script.

Villagers Angered By Lengthy Spielberg Filming Schedule!
Steven Spielberg is facing the wrath of residents in a small English village who accuse the producer of disrupting their quiet lives while he shoots new epic 'WAR HORSE'.
The 'Jurassic Park' helmer is busy filming the movie - adapted from the play about a young man who joins the cavalry in a bid to save his beloved horse - in picturesque Castle Combe, Wiltshire.
Spielberg is reimbursing residents whose homes are being used in the movie, but neighbours are fed up with the project's lengthy schedule and the strict security measures which have been put in place.
One local tells the Daily Express rag:
"It makes me so angry that I can't even take my car out of my drive. The level of security is ridiculous. I'm ready for them to leave now."
The village has become quite popular with movie-makers, as 'Doctor Dolittle' and 'Stardust' were both shot there.

The pregnant 'Samantha Who?' star has teamed up with gem designer Alex Woo to create a new pendant necklace to raise money for her Right Action for Women foundation.
She tells People.com the jewellery she has helped to create:
"..reminds me so much of the roses I made out of ribbons for my friends and family while in the hospital.
"I am so grateful to Alex for creating such a beautiful piece to benefit Right Action for Women. Proceeds from the necklace will help women at high risk for breast cancer get the screenings and testing they need to be at this disease."

The Charlatans Pay Tribute To Brookes At Charity Gig.
The Charlatans paid tribute to their cancer-stricken drummer Jon Brookes at a charity gig on last night (27th September 2010) by dedicating a song to the percussionist.
The band cancelled a string of shows in the U.S. after Brookes collapsed at a concert in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania earlier this month. He was later diagnosed with brain cancer and former The Verve star Pete Salisbury has since been drafted in to take his place after the band vowed to continue touring.
The new line-up was unveiled at a charity gig in London on Monday - and the group took the opportunity to address Brookes' health problems.
Singer Tim Burgess told the crowd at the Oxjam gig in Dalston, Hackney (London - for all you U.S. readers out there):
"It's been a funny couple of weeks. This next one is for Jon. It is called 'My Foolish Pride '."
Minogue Defends Book Claims About Osbourne!
The Minogue vs. Osbourne war of words continues, after Dannii Minogue hit back at Kelly Osbourne for saying she lied about mum Sharon in a new book.
In her autobiography Dannii: My Story, Minogue claims Sharon Osbourne made her cry when she first joined British talent show The X Factor as a judge in 2007.
She reveals Osbourne shouted at her moments before her live TV debut, accusing her of failing to dismiss rumours the two judges had fallen out. But Sharon's daughter Kelly rushed to defend her mother over the allegations, branding Minogue "the devil", for making the disparaging comments.
Minogue has now responded to Kelly's accusations that her book is "full of lies", insisting she hasn't made up the account of what happened.
In an interview with X Magazine, she says:
"I just put what happened in the book. I don't want to get into the back and forth of this. I wasn't really upset or angry, I just laughed. I know what's true.
"She made strong accusations, but I'm not a liar - if she's calling me a liar, she's calling everyone who was there a liar. The producers and everyone. There were a lot of witnesses.
"I don't want to get into some kind of slanging match with anyone. You can't change anyone's opinion of you. If someone doesn't like me, I've always just stayed out of their way .."
Sounds like this bitter feud isn't going to end anytime soon.
Gibb "Grateful" To Be Alive After Emergency Operation!
BEE GEES star Robin Gibb says he's "grateful" to be alive, after he feared he would die like his twin brother Maurice after undergoing an emergency stomach operation earlier this year.
The Staying Alive singer was hospitalised in August after suffering crippling cramps and he was rushed into the operating theatre for an emergency procedure on his intestine. The same health crisis cost his twin's life seven years ago, but it was only after the scare that Robin made the connection with his brother's death.
Speaking to the Daily Mail newspaper, he says:
"I didn't think about Mo (Maurice) until after my emergency. I just got a bit of cramp, and suddenly I was on the operating table. The gastroenterologist told me my intestine was blocked , and was about two hours from bursting.
"Everything went very fast. You realise that however much you don't think about death - or think that's for other people - you're just an organism living from day to day. I'm just grateful I'm here.
"I remember lying on the operating table being determined not to die. I said to the guy when I went in there: 'You'd better do a good job or I'm coming after you.' The worst part was wondering: 'Will I wake up and not be me again? Will there be other complications? Will I be in a coma?"
DiCaprio's Moving Tribute To Stuart.
Leonardo DiCaprio has paid a touching tribute to his 'TITANIC' co-star Gloria Stuart, who died at the age of 100 last Sunday (26th September 2010).
Stuart, who played the elderly version of Kate Winslet's character Rose in the 1997 blockbuster, passed away at her Los Angeles home following years of ill health.
DiCaprio has released a statement marking Stuart's career, speaking of his "honour" at working alongside the veteran actress.
He says:
"Gloria Stuart was a force both on and off screen. An amazingly sweet person, a fantastic actress, and someone who always fought for what she believed in.
"She was one of the last great actresses from the Golden era of Hollywood. I was honoured to have worked alongside her. She will be missed."
Winslet has already released her own statement, speaking of her sadness over the death of a "remarkable woman".
R.I.P. Gloria Stuart.

Watson Joins Branagh And Dench For 'MONROE' Biopic!
Actress Emma Watson has reportedly secured her first post-'Harry Potter' movie role, in an upcoming movie about Marilyn Monroe.
The 20-year-old star finished work on the final installment in the wizard franchise earlier this year but has shunned Hollywood to concentrate on her university studies and launching her eco-friendly fashion line - People Tree.
She has now accepted her first movie role after the Potter franchise in new Monroe movie (titled 'My Week With Marilyn'), which will see Michelle Williams playing the blonde bombshell herself.
The story centres around Colin Clark, who worked as Laurence Olivier's assistant on 1957 movie 'The Prince And The Showgirl', which he filmed with Monroe.
Watson will reportedly tackle the role of a wardrobe assistant, and will also star alongside Kenneth Branagh, Dominic Cooper and Dame Judi Dench.
SCREAM 4 - First Official Still!
I guess it's only right that Courtney Cox should be in the first official image (from EW) from the 'Scream 4' movie. But will she survive an encounter with the Ghostface killer again?
This movie is set 10 years after the last one, and Cox's character, Gale Weathers, is now married to Dewey (Cox's real-life husband, David Arquette).
Speaking to EW about her role, Cox says:
''I kind of gave up my job as the entertainment journalist.
''I'm bored with my life and my marriage.''
Neve Campbell is also returning as Sidney Prescott, and appearance leads to more Ghostface murders, which re-energises Gale. Nothing like a bit of crime to stir things up a little.
She adds:
''Things start happening, and I couldn't be more thrilled.''
Eddie Fisher - R.I.P!
Singer Eddie Fisher, who was once married to Dame Elizabeth Taylor, has died at the age of 82.
The entertainer, who sparked outrage in the 1950s when he left wife Debbie Reynolds for her pal Taylor, passed away in California on Wednesday (22th September 2010).
Fisher died as a result of complications stemming from recent hip surgery, according to his family.
A statement reads:
"He was loved and will be missed by his four children: Carrie, Todd, Joely, and Tricia Leigh as well as his six grandchildren. He was an extraordinary talent and a true mensch (admirable person)."
Fisher became a teen idol in the 1950s with tracks including Thinking Of You and Oh! My Pa-Pa.
But he later became better known for his scandalous love life - as well as Reynolds and Taylor, he was also married to actress Connie Stevens, Terry Richard and Betty Lin, who died in 2001.
His children include 'Star Wars' actress Carrie Fisher and 'Ellen' star Joely Fisher.
3-D 'Triffids' Set For Production?
I don't need to preach about how 3-D movies seem to be more popular than ever these days..., but could a new 3-D version of John Wyndham's 'The Day Of The Triffids' work just as well?
'Transformers' producer Don Murphy (pictured above) is apparently teaming up with Michael Preger to make this a reality - according to Variety.
Speaking about the ambitious project to bring yet another adaptation of the iconic sci-fi novel to the big screen, Murphy says:
"This original classic has still to be successfully envisioned on the screen.
"It is a story that strikes at the heart of what it means to be human -- and does so in an intensely cinematic way."
For those who have not yet read Wyndham's classic novel (which first published in 1951), the story tells how mankind suffers a global crisis due to the presence of plants capable of aggressive behavior, leading to an unprecedented cosmic event causing global blindness.
Preger Entertainment first acquired the movie rights to the 1951 novel back in 1991, and Murphy and Preger have been exploring a project based on the Wyndham book for well over a decade. With recent breakthroughs in 3-D, the pair were convinced that the time had arrived to move forward with the project.
Preger acknowledges that several screen adaptations of Wyndham's novel have been produced and that they were limited by film technologies of the past to convey the sense of horror.
He says:
"We are confident that with the new technological advances in 3D production, we have the tools with which to create Wyndham's iconic vision of Armageddon."
Preger was also behind the 2009 BBC1 miniseries 'Day of the Triffids'.

Disturbia Copyright Infringment Claim Dismissed!
A judge in the U.S. has dismissed a copyright infringement lawsuit which claimed Shia LaBeouf's 2007 movie 'Disturbia' was based on the famous story of 'Rear Window'.
Lawyers representing the trust of late writer Cornell Woolrich put together a case that claimed DreamWorks movie bosses stole part of the film's plot from her short story, which was turned into an Oscar-nominated film by Alfred Hitchcock in 1954. Both stories follow a man who spies on a neighbour from his window and becomes convinced they have committed murder.
Legal reps alleged studio heads didn't ask permission to turn the short story into a film.
But New York District Court judge Laura Taylor Swan has dismissed the complaint, insisting the similarities aren't enough to warrant copyright infringement.
She said:
"The main plots are similar only at a high, unprotectable level of generality. Where Disturbia is rife with sub-plots, the short story has none. The setting and mood of the short story are static and tense, whereas the setting and mood of Disturbia are more dynamic and peppered with humour and teen romance."
So case closed, right?
The Charlatans Drummer Diagnosed With Brain Cancer.
THE CHARLATANS drummer Jon Brookes has been diagnosed with a brain tumour.
The percussionist was rushed to hospital last week (15th September) after collapsing during a concert in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The band scrapped the rest of its U.S. tour and the musician returned to back to the U.K.. A statement from the group has now confirmed Brookes is suffering from brain cancer and they have thanked fans for their support as the star continues treatment.
The message reads:
"The band and Jon would like to thank all well wishers for their kind messages of support."
As a result, the band also revealed they will be hiring a "short-term replacement" while Brookes battles the brain tumour.
Hope Jon manages to beat this awful illness!
Gomez Denies Bieber Romance!
Selena Gomez has apparently dismissed reports which suggest she is dating teen star Justin Bieber - insisting the teen star is like a "little brother" to her.
The Disney singer/actress, is close pals with the Baby hitmaker, and their relationship has been subject to various reports that claim they are more than just friends.
But during an interview with U.S. TV host Ellen DeGeneres, Gomez made it crystal clear her friendship with 16-year-old Bieber is purely platonic.
She states:
"He's little. He's like my little brother. That's weird to me.."

Gaga Campaigns For Gay Rights In U.S. Military!
Lady GaGa ripped into the US military's ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy at a rally in Portland yesterday, in front of over 4,000 activists.
For those not familiar with this, the ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’ principle prevents openly gay men and women from serving in the US military, and today a vote in the senate could see an end to this old-school policy.
Speaking on a small stage, GaGa told the crowd:
"My name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. I am an American citizen ... [and] to the Senate, to Americans, to Senator Olympia Snowe, Senator Susan Collins - both from Maine - and Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts: Equality is the prime rib of America.
"Equality is the prime rib of what we stand for as a nation. And I don't get to enjoy the greatest cut of meat that my country has to offer. Are you listening? Shouldn't everyone deserve the right to wear the same meat dress that I did? Repeal 'don't ask, don't tell.'"
Referencing the gay ex-servicemen who appeared at the event, the Telephone hitmaker added:
"There are amazing heroes here today whose stories are more powerful than any story I could tell, any fight I've ever fought, and any song that I could tell, I'm here because they inspire me. I'm here because I believe in them.
“I'm here because 'don't ask, don't tell' is wrong ... it's unjust and, fundamentally, it is against all that we stand for as Americans.”
You go girl!
Weaver To Bring Stripper Role To The Stage?
Actress Sigourney Weaver is apparently considering a stint on stage with her portrayal of ageing stripper Gypsy Rose Lee, after TV bosses put a planned project on hold.
The 'Working Girl' star extensively researched the infamous historical figure but the TV drama is still yet to be filmed...and she's keen to try out her Gypsy on audiences.
Speaking to WENN, she says:
"It's still happening. HBO (network) bumped us because the new guy didn't want to do anything period piece. It's such a great script. We're still alive and kicking.
"It's hard to get something unusual done right now. We're trying to figure it out. We might do it as a theatre piece first. It will give me a chance to do her act in front of a live audience.
"The film sort of starts when she stops stripping. It shows her time with her son, who was, like, her stage manager and was in the box that she changed in, and so he was like her stage manager from the age of seven. Once he was an adolescent she wanted him to stay with her but he wanted to live his life, so it's about their relationship. It starts when he was a kid - 14, 15 - and goes to his early 20s."
Sounds like an ace project. Hope it gets made either way!
Minogue's Legal Fight With NEIGHBOURS Execs.
Singer Kylie Minogue reportedly once took legal action against bosses of Australian soap opera NEIGHBOURS, in a bid to stop repeat episodes from hitting the small screen.
The Spinning Around hitmaker shot to fame as a teenager on the show in the 1980s, playing car mechanic Charlene.
Who can forget when her character went on to marry Jason Donovan's alter-ego Scott Robinson, and the episode still stands as one of the soap's most iconic moments.
But Minogue was unhappy at the thought of the episode being repeated and instructed her lawyers to block TV bosses from allowing any reruns, according to the show's maker Reg Grundy.
He says:
"That marriage probably got the highest ratings of any marriage in Australia. She went on to great success and I applaud that.
"She said we couldn't use the tapes because she didn't want us to use them. And we said, 'No, we own the tapes.' And she had to accept it.
"It was like, our lawyers versus their lawyers. But I think she felt as her career grew, she didn't want to be remembered for being on a soap. That's understandable I think. But it did give her the break and I think now she does acknowledge that."
I don't know about Reg, but I wouldn't want pics of me when I was younger...splattered around for everyone to see.
Good on ya, Kyles!
Cullum Joins Tribute To Dagley At Memorial Concert.
Singer Jamie Cullum took to the stage at London's legendary Ronnie Scott's jazz club last night for a tribute concert to honour late drummer Chris Dagley.
The musician died in July this year when he lost control of his motorbike and crashed on a road in White City, London.
Dagley, who previously played with Lionel Richie and Take That, was a rising star on the jazz scene in the U.K. capital and performed as part of the house band at the famous venue. And yesterday evening, the stars turned out to celebrate Dagley's life.
Cullum, along with other musicians including Natalie Williams, Carleen Anderson, James Pearson and Rick Astley, played at the club, with ticket proceeds going towards the Chris Dagley memorial fund, according to the venue's website.
Sounds like it was a wonderful evening, given the circumstances.

SAW 3D *FULL TRAILER*!
The eagerly awaited full trailer for Lionsgate's 'SAW 3D' is here, and the movie will be with us in October...in time for Halloween!
Directed by Kevin Greutert, this latest instalment in the SAW horror movie series stars Tobin Bell, Cary Elwes, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell and Sean Patrick Flanery.
The scene is set as a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw's brutal legacy, and a group of Jigsaw survivors gather to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen. But as the trailer shows, the group bring a whole new meaning to the term "re-living the past".
Gallagher Puts Fatherhood Over Solo Material!
Brit rocker Noel Gallagher won't be in any rush to record his new solo material, because he's preparing for one of his biggest challenges of all... The arrival of his new baby!
The Wonderwall hit singer stunned fans when he quit Oasis in August last year, following a fight with his singer brother Liam.
He has since confirmed plans to launch his own solo career, but unfortunately fans will have to wait until next year to hear his new material - because girlfriend Sara MacDonald is expecting their baby this month...and he'll be busy concentrating on fatherhood.
Gallagher says:
"I'm moving house and my missus is nine months pregnant so I'm not doing anything until well into next year. I'll be doing nappies and all that malarkey."
Good luck with the impending arrival, Noel!
Franco Sets The Record Straight On Gay Rumours!
Former 'Spider-Man' villain James Franco has taken to the pages of one of the world's leading gay magazines to end speculation about his sexuality.
The actor, who played gay activist Scott Smith in 'Milk', tells The Advocate he's not a homosexual, despite reports to the contrary, in a revealing new article.
He says:
"Some people think I'm gay because I've played these gay roles... but it's not true... I'm not gay.
"I'd tell you if I was. I guess the reason I wouldn't is because I'd be worried that it would hurt my career. I suppose that's the reason one wouldn't do that... But no, that wouldn't be something that would deter me. I'm going to do projects that I want to do."
Franco is also keen to clear up rumours suggesting he's "a stoner" - thanks to his drug-seller role in Pineapple Express.
He adds:
"Everyone thinks I'm a stoner... (but) I don't smoke pot."
Why can't actors just do their bit without being classified the same as their roles. Are people really that dumb? Everyone knows that few gay actors actually get to play gay roles in Hollywood.. Don't they?

Cameron Finally Closes The Door On AVATAR!
DirectorJames Cameron is adamant the 'AVATAR' phenomenon is nearing its end - he will walk away from the film once his definitive version is released.
The helmer re-released his record-breaking 3D movie last month with an extra nine minutes of footage, and plans to put out an ultimate director's cut on DVD this November, which will include seven minutes on top of that!
But Cameron is determined not to squeeze any more mileage out of 'AVATAR' and has promised to close the door on the fantasy film once his final version is out.
He tells Total Film:
"No, I'm not going back to this. There's no re-visiting this downstream, and I don't see it coming back into theatres at all unless 20 years from now they want to do something and I'm a doddering old guy that can't stop them."
But don't worry folks...this news does not spell the end of the Avatar franchise, because Cameron is still planning a sequel for 2014.
I was beginning to worry how many more money-grabbing versions of this movie existed. Thanks goodness it's no-where near as what I imagined it would be!
Spears' Rep Dismisses Sexual Harassment Lawsuit!
Britney Spears' publicist has responded to a sexual harassment case filed by the star's former bodyguard - suggesting the suit is a way for the former aide to "make a name for himself".
In a shocking new lawsuit filed in Los Angeles yesterday, Fernando Flores accused the Toxic chart-topper of exposing herself and making sexual advances towards him while he worked for her. Flores had previously claimed that Spears was a terrible parent to her two sons, alleging he once witnessed the star "savagely hit" her son Sean Preston with a belt.
An investigation was launched after the bodyguard reported her to the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services earlier this year, but officials rejected the claims in July
.
Now a rep for the superstar has taken to Spears' website to dismiss the latest lawsuit as nothing more than a cry for publicity by a disgruntled former employee.
On the site, a statement reads:
"This lawsuit is another unfortunate situation where someone is trying to take advantage of the Spears family and make a name for himself.
"The Department of Children and Family Services conducted a proper investigation surrounding Mr. Flores' accusations and have closed the case without any further action. Ms. Spears and her attorneys have every expectation that this matter will be dismissed by the courts."
It's obvious that Flores isn't doing himself any favours - if his allegations are indeed false.
Ditto Explains Hidden Feelings For Her Assistant.
The Gossip singer Beth Ditto kept her feelings for her personal assistant hidden because she was wracked with guilt at "cheating" on her girlfriend.
The outlandish star broke up with her bus driver lover Freddie earlier this year, after nine years together.
She then started dating her assistant Kristin within weeks of the split, and admits she had been hiding her true feelings for her pal for a long time - even though she was faithful to her previous lover.
Ditto tells U.K.'s Marie Claire magazine:
"It was something that I kept hidden deep inside me. But everyone knew. Even people at parties and clubs would be like, 'When are they going to get together?' There was always a little guilt inside me because I felt like I was cheating but I never cheated, we never did anything. It's hard to explain."
And Ditto is adamant the fears which marred her previous relationship don't bother her anymore:
"I dated Freddie for nine years, and I always felt worried it was going to end. With Kristin I never worry about it ending, I just feel completely full and whole."
There should be morev people like Beth. Faithful and not weak enough to give into temptation, no matter how much a person feels for another.
Brody Says He Was A "Jacka**" Over Stewart Criticism!
Former The O.C. star Adam Brody regrets ever suggesting Kristen Stewart should give up acting - because he "sounded like an idiot" and isn't surprised he was slammed for the remarks.
Brody riled Twilight fans when he insisted the actress should quit her movie career if fame gets too much for her.
Referring to the actress in an interview with Diablo Cody, he said:
"It's only gotten worse, I'm sure, being a celebrity. At the same time, I don't have a lot of patience for people who moan about it too much. Because there are many things you could do... It's like, quit... you don't need to be an actor, so it's like, if it's that much of a problem... there's the door."
These comments sparked an online hate campaign from loyal followers of the vampire franchise - and now even Brody admits his words were too harsh.
Speaking to MTV News, he says:
"It wasn't taken out of context. I saw (the interview) and thought I sounded like an idiot. I did. Regardless of how anyone else took anything, I would think that sounds very ungentlemanly and I sounded like a jacka**."
Oh dear, Adam... When you eventually get to her level of popularity I'm sure you'll really understand what it feels like to be slated in the same way.
Madonna Chooses The Subway Over Her Limo.
Madonna snubbed her superstar lifestyle a couple of days ago...by taking a ride incognito on the New York subway.
The Hung Up chart-topper is usually accompanied by a huge entourage and is whisked around in limousines but decided to downplay her celebrity status with a humble journey into downtown New York.
The singer stood for her train ride and was only accompanied by two men and one woman.
And she managed to remain unnoticed until fellow commuters spotted a photographer taking snaps of the star, to which the unfazed star said:
"I don't mind you taking my photo, but be discreet."

Crowe Denies WESTWORLD Involvement.
'Robin Hood' star Russell Crowe has taken to his Twitter.com page to deny he's set to star in a remake of Michael Crichton's sci-fi thriller remake 'WESTWORLD'.
Crowe reportedly signed up to a new version of the 1973 film, which was author Crichton's first outing as a big screen director and originally starred Yul Brynner as a gunslinging android at a fantasy theme park.
But he has shot down the rumours, insisting there is no truth to them.
He tweets:
"WestWorld purely a rumour, I've never been contacted about it."
And Crowe also sets the record straight about claims he's taking over from late fellow Aussie Heath Ledger in 'Dirt Music' - an adaptation of Tim Winton's award-winning book. He states the project is a long way from completion.
He adds:
"Dirt Music is still off in the never, never somewhere."
Colfer Was Bullied For Being Gay.
'GLEE' star Chris Colfer revealed he was targeted by bullies over his sexuality, during his school days.
The actor, who plays fashionista Kurt Hummel in the hit U.S. show, admits his camp and quirky persona led to teasing by his classmates.
However since he shot to fame, his former tormentors have tried to befriend him - but the actor is adamant he'll never forget their mean behaviour.
He says:
"Absolutely, yeah (I was bullied). I was teased every day, mainly because of my voice. They said I sounded like a chipmunk! Now everyone likes to remind me how they used to be my best friend, but I have a very good memory - that wasn't always the case.
"I was really intense at high school because I knew what I wanted to do.. I was in a small town in the middle of nowhere and everything seemed impossible. People liked to feed off that and make me feel as if it was impossible."
I guess he should know by now that even bullies can smell money and success, and that they will at some point try to claim their slice of it.
Portman Impressed By Branagh's THOR Plans.
Actress Natalie Portman has thanked Kenneth Branagh for her role in 'THOR', saying she only took on the part because he was in the director's chair.
The Hollywood star plays female lead Jane Foster in the upcoming Marvel Comics movie alongside Anthony Hopkins and Idris Elba.
But Portman was prepared to turn down an audition for the role - until she realised Branagh would be helming the project.
She tells Total Film magazine:
"It was actually not something I was dying to do. Not Thor in particular, but a big movie. When I heard Ken was doing it, I said, 'Wow that is a daring and interesting idea.'
"Then I met Ken and he was someone I was extremely interested to get to spend three months with. It was probably the first, or one of the first times that my expectations were actually exceeded."
Garfield Says SPIDER-MAN Role Is A Childhood Dream.
Andrew Garfield is more than ready to step into Tobey Maguire's shoes as SPIDER-MAN, as this is a role he's been prepared to play since he was aged four.
The Brit actor is preparing to replace Maguire after he stepped down from the web-slinging role earlier this year - and the 27 year old insists he's fulfilling a childhood dream by joining the franchise.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he states:
"I have been waiting for this phone call for 24 years, for someone to call me up and say, 'Hey, we want you to pretend to be a character that you've always wanted to be all your life, and we're going to do it with cool cameras and cool effects and you're going to feel like you're swinging through New York City. Do you want to do that?' 'Let me just consult with my seven-year-old self and see what he thinks!'
"Like every young boy who feels stronger on the inside than they look on the outside, any skinny boy basically who wishes their muscles matched their sense of injustice, God, it's just the stuff that dreams are made of, for sure.
"It's a true f**king honour to be part of this symbol that I actually t hink is a very important symbol and it's meant a great deal to me, and it continues to mean something to people. So yeah, I feel like I've been preparing for it for a while. Ever since Halloween when I was four years old and I wore my first Spider-Man costume."
Garfield's as-yet-untitled blockbuster will begin lensing this December, and is due in cinemas in 2012.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again... Garfield, good on you!!
Cowell To Leave UK For U.S. X Factor?
Music mogul Simon Cowell has sparked speculation he's set to leave his native Britain for good to concentrate on launching his popular singing contest THE X FACTOR in America.
Cowell has dealt a devastating blow to TV fans after hinting the U.K. show, currently in its seventh series, won't be back in 2011 - because he'll be too busy working on an American version.
He is due to start filming the U.S. X Factor in September next year - around the same time the U.K. show typically begins airing.
He says:
"At the moment you are going to see me doing one show next year - and not one in England. I have a contract for this year and that is it.
"It will have to move. Do people want it back (in the U.K.)? I am going to sit it out for a few more weeks before I make a final decision. And it has to be fun. The minute it stops being fun, bye bye."
Drumming up extra PR for the X Factor, Mr. Cowell?

Depp And Paradis To Star As Literary Lovers?
French actress/singer Vanessa Paradis has confirmed she and long-time partner Johnny Depp are in talks to play Simone de Beauvoir and her lover Nelson Algren in a racy new movie.
The Joe Le Taxi songstress has been ear-marked to play the late writer/feminist in 'My American Lover' for some time and now she admits the father of her two children is on-board to play Algren.
Paradis and Depp have not as yet officially worked together, although they were cast in Terry Gilliam's doomed 'Don Quixote' movie before the production fell apart over a decade ago.
And now the actress admits the time may be right for her to partner with her real-life boyfriend in a movie.
Speaking to WENN, she states:
"They're still writing the script but the idea would be amazing because it's such a beautiful story. You only know when you're really actually shooting.
"We've had plenty of opportunities to work together but I don't know that I could do it; keep a straight face in front of him... It's something that we don't look for, otherwise it would've happened many times.
"My American Lover came along and it might happen just because the story is great and why not if we can, but we don't push things. Playing in front of one of the best actors in the world that we have and someone I know so well will be challenging. That's why we don't run after it. But I don't know... why not?"
